My first styling gig…

As someone who has always loved fashion and style, I was super excited when one of my CEO boss babe best friends asked me to style her for an upcoming interview and photoshoot with one of her business partners. It was my first time styling someone, I'm no professional, but I was excited to see what I could do.

The process began with a trip to her home to go through her closet. We spent about three to four hours going through her clothes, determining her style, reservations, and comfort levels exploring style options outside her norm. It was important for me to understand her personal style, what she felt comfortable in, and what she wanted to convey through her clothing for the interview and photoshoot.

After the initial consultation, my girlfriend determined her shopping budget and gave me her credit card to complete the shopping. I spent about three hours shopping and trying on the items I picked for her, taking pictures to determine the look and vibe I wanted her to have for the shoot. I kept in mind her color scheme according to her branding and the requirements of the partner doing the photoshoot.

Once the shopping was complete, we scheduled another appointment to try on all the pieces, style and accessorize each, and take pictures so she knew how to put the looks together once she was on set. I wanted her to feel confident and comfortable in the outfits and know how to style them to showcase her personality and brand.

The entire process was exciting. I tapped into a creative side of myself I didn't know I had or could share. It was amazing to see my friend transform into a confident and stylish version of herself and to know that I had played a part in that transformation.

My friend's feedback was inspiring and made me realize I could share this gift with others, especially those who dislike shopping, because I LOVE to shop. Knowing I had helped my girl feel confident and empowered through her clothing choices was motivating. Head to my Instagram to see her look.

Since that experience, another person has reached out to me for styling, letting me know that this is real and that I can do this. So I'm now offering this service to anyone who wants or needs styling. Just contact me to schedule a consultation, and let's create together!

I'm learning that styling someone is more than just picking out clothes. It's about understanding their style, brand, and personality. It's about helping them feel confident and empowered through clothing choices and showcasing their best selves to the world.

Finding someone who understands you is important for anyone considering hiring a stylist. Look for someone passionate about fashion and style and a keen eye for detail. It's also important to be open to exploring new styles and to trust your stylist's expertise. Sometimes, the outfits we think will look the best on us are different from the ones that actually do. A good stylist can help you step outside your comfort zone and try new things while still staying true to your style and brand.

Overall, my first styling experience was an amazing one. I'm excited to continue offering this service to others and to help them showcase their best selves to the world.
