When in Rome…

Rome, the eternal city, is a place that is full of history, culture, and delicious food. During my birth month world tour in October, I made Rome one of my stops during my travels. It was perfect because my best friend lives in Naples, so it was easy for us to meet and spend time together. It was an experience that I'll never forget. From pizza and pasta to stunning architecture and world-famous landmarks, Rome is a city that has something for everyone. And I say everyone because my six-year-old god-son was with us and enjoyed touring the city, as well as taking our pictures 🤣.

We stayed at the Hotel Royal Court, a cute little boutique hotel about five minutes' walking distance to Termini station, which was perfect for easy access to all the public transportation options. It was also within walking distance of eateries and other points of interest.

One of the highlights of my trip to Rome was the coffee. The coffee in Rome is some of the best in the world, and I made it my mission to try as many different cafes as possible. The coffee was strong and flavorful, with a rich creme unlike any other that I've tasted. And when in Rome, I had to try the gelato. I had the best gelato of my life at this little spot that I can't remember the name of, a small walk-up shop with a variety of flavors. I had the mint chocolate, and it was so rich and creamy 😋.

Another highlight of my trip was touring the city and seeing the famous landmarks. The Colosseum was a must-see, and it did not disappoint. The sheer size and scale of the Colosseum were awe-inspiring, and it was interesting to think about the history and events that took place there. The Vatican was another highlight, with its stunning architecture and world-famous art collection. We spent hours wandering through the Vatican Museum, admiring the works of Michelangelo, Raphael, and other famous artists. And, of course, we toured the Sistine Chapel. The ceiling is a masterpiece; seeing it in person was amazing. The Spanish Steps were another famous landmark that we visited. The steps are popular with tourists and locals, offering a great city view and Instagram-worthy photos. I got so many cute shots, such memorable moments.

Shopping in Rome was the very best part of my trip. I had been eyeing the Mini Lady Dior purse for a long time, so I decided to visit the Dior store near the Spanish Steps, and I was so happy I did. The customer service was on point. The sales associate was friendly and knowledgeable and helped me find my perfect mini. It was a great experience, especially since the currency conversion rate made the bag cheaper than in the U.S. Remember to provide your passport information while shopping overseas so that you can recover all the VAT taxes at the airport!

Shopping in Rome!

Overall, my trip to Rome was an unforgettable experience. Spending time with my best friend, the food, the landmarks, the shopping, and the coffee created great memories I'll never forget.
