Outfit Ideas For A Cold Valentine's Day

Dresses, skirts, jumper, pants...you have options

Valentine's day is the day for love, so people tend to go all out, hair done, nails done, everything done (in my Swizz Beats voice ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ˜‚), reservations, gifts, etc., but with this crazy Virginia weather, we need to have options.

The older I get, the less into Valentine's day I become. Don't get me wrong, I'll entertain the celebration, but It's okay if I do nothing or if I don't get gifts. I've jumped on the "every day should be like Valentine's" bandwagon (laughing out loud); it's my husband's saying since he believes a person shouldn't wait for one special day to celebrate their significant other but be intentional about making everyday love-filled (thatโ€™s so sweet ainโ€™t it ๐Ÿ˜). But according to Forbes last year, "love birds were planning to spend $23.9 billion on Valentine's Day โ€”up from $21.8 billion in 2021. Significant others anticipated spending an average of $175.41 per person on Valentine's Day gifts." Ladies, are you planning to be in that number this year? Are you fretting over what to wear on a cold Valentin's day? You don't have to break the bank; pull together pieces you currently have, and start with the shoes depending on your intended vibe. Starting with the shoe saves money and time and becomes the foundation for outfit planning. Pull pieces that center around the shoe and begin trying on your looks. Check out the few looks that I pulled together; no shopping needed, some sexy, comfortable, and cute. Most of these looks center around my heeled boot, and patent leather pumps that I already owned.

You can opt for a pop of color other than pink or red, and that's perfectly fine. Lighter colors like the white dress and mint green mini-dress are more summer colors, but wearing the black boot winterizes the look. The little black dress is a safe option, but turning the sexy up a bit, I pulled out the dark wine-colored midi dress with the cutouts. The back is out on this number, so throwing on a blazer keeps the look classy. The slip dress is one of my favorites. I love this dress, and adding the sheer top underneath makes it less revealing and warmer, and the chunky boot dresses the look down a bit. Jeans, a cute top, and heels are always a simple sexy look that you can easily pull together, but if you want to turn the heat up, faux leather leggings are a hit. The red pleated jumper is a little something extra ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Having options when the weather is unpredictable is the key, so take some time to figure out the shoes first, then go from there to create a few looks that will meet your Valentine's Day needs. Tell me in the comments below which look is your favorite. What are you wearing for Valentineโ€™s Day?
